UC/CSU Application Deadlines | FAFSA Opening

With the deadlines coming up for both UC's and CSU's I wanted to send a reminder to get those applications in! The deadline to apply for both CSU and UC are December 2nd. With a holiday in between now and the deadline I would suggest applying now! Below are links to the websites for the deadlines for you to double check if you want.

FALL FLASH FLU CLINIC!

Protect your friends and family this holiday season. Calaveras County Public Health is offering no-cost flu vaccines. The first 25 people vaccinated will receive a $45 gas card!

Lunches

​Just a reminder that if you signed up for lunch and are not going to be on campus to get lunch please let us know before 11:00 that day.  That way we have time to inform the cafeteria lady and she won't prepare the food.  Just today alone we had 11 out of 18 students not show up for the lunches they ordered.  That is a lot of wasted food.  At some point, it could become an issue and we could lose the hot lunch program and only be able to offer shelf-stable lunches to our families. Senior Graduation Information

Your Senior Year is finally here. We are so excited for all of you. We have a lot of information posted in our Senior & High School Resource section of the website at https://tinyurl.com/32cv427r
Please visit this section to look over the Graduation Packet with all of the information you need about our upcoming Senior Meeting on December 6th at 11:00 AM at the San Andreas site and about our Scholarship Essay Workshop following the graduation meeting. We require all seniors to complete a Graduation Checklist form by January 31st - even if you do not plan on participating in the graduation ceremony. There is also a link to a Graduation Trip Survey, for anyone who may be interested in possibly attending. The survey needs to be completed by January 17th. Michael, our new school counselor, has the list of local scholarships posted for you to review and start applying for. The scholarship packet is also available online. Posted 10/30/24

Senior Meeting / Pizza Lunch/Scholarship Writing/ Naviance

We will have a Senior Meeting on December 6th at 11:00 am at the San Andreas site to choose the design for the senior shirts, discuss the overall ceremony, senior trip, and FAFSA. We will have a pizza lunch at noon for all seniors who are attending the Scholarship Writing meeting, which will be held at 12:30 pm. This meeting will help seniors get a start on their scholarship essays. We will also go over how to use the College/Career online program - Naviance. We hope you all can attend. Posted 10/29/24

SMILES Program

The SMILES program is back! 🙂
We will be hosting the SMILES van on Tuesday 12/03/24 at 11 am.
They will serve all Mountain Oaks students TK through 3rd.
Students will need to be in attendance for the "presentation" at 11am (right after drama) and then they will have an individual exam.

The entire process is less than an hour.

All students participating need to bring a completed SMILE Keepers form on December 3rd.

CAASPP / CAST Testing

The testing window opens March 31, 2025, the Monday we come back from Spring Break.

The testing window closes May 13, 2025, the day before Frog Jump.

Push Week - In-Person Testing at all three Sites is April 7-11, 2025.

New Visitor Procedure

​We were required to update our check-in procedures. All people must still check in on the iPads at the school sites (students, parents, siblings, and visitors). We have added a new section to the iPad system for MO Families and this area is for non-parent family members who come to the site regularly (grandparents, non-enrolled siblings, etc.). Parents and students still need to sign in under the appropriate Parent and Student sections. All Parents and MO Family Members need to wear a MO Family Member badge while on campus and return it to the basket on the counter at the end of the day. Non-Mtn. Oaks Family Member visitors are required to have a photo taken and wear a photo ID badge given to them. The system is in place at the San Andreas site and we will be starting soon at the Sonora and Sutter Creek sites. Posted 10/10/24

2024-2025 School Year Newspaper - October

Mountain Oaks school is proud to present the first edition of our 2024/2025 school year newspaper. This edition was created and written by Editor Emmaline Turnbeaugh. We are extremely proud of the time and energy Emmaline dedicated to the newspaper. Emmaline is currently putting together the November edition. There are opportunities for additional student content in the upcoming edition.

Athletic Workshop for Grades 3-6

We had a lot of interest for the Athletics Workshop for Grades 3-6. We will begin on November 4th once the Volleyball season ends. The class will be Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 PM for students in grades 3-6. Please come in athletic shoes and clothes and bring plenty of water to drink.

NOTE that the last sign-up was an INTEREST SURVEY to see when we might offer it. You must sign up again to enroll. There will be no Wednesday or Friday class as most of the interest fell on Tuesday. Click article title to sign up. Posted 10/4/24

Updated Rewards Points

Hello Mountain Oaks Families!

As fall begins to peek its head out and the weather is changing (hopefully) we wanted to let you know of an exciting change to our rewards point system. We have retired the old "Rewards Catalog" due to low engagement and have streamlined spending points at the Book Fair. Students no longer have to worry about what their points are worth at the Book Fair with no change being given if they didn't spend in certain multiples. Now all points earned are simply: 1 point = $1. We have increased students' current balances to be in line with this change and have also similarly increased how many points are earned from all sources.

Please head to the Mountain Oaks homepage and look under "Academic Resources" and then "Student Rewards" to see the details of where/how students earn points as well as the form students can fill out to see their points balance.

Basketball Group

Hello, 7th -12th grade students! Looking for a place to hone your basketball skills? Join our club, started by Nick Jones, where you can practice, and learn from your peers. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, everyone is welcome!
